The first German tank to have the 8.8cm KwK36 cannon (derived from the 8.8cm Flak 36).
1,347 examples were built between 1942 and 1944.
After 1944, production of the Tiger I was discontinued and the Tiger II was produced.
The Tiger command tank was a command tank with additional radio equipment.
