The battle for Austria (DVD)

March 1945: U.S. bombers approaching the provincial capital Vienna. Thousands of civilians are dying. The German air defense is largely destroyed. During the 3rd Ukrainian army of the Hungarian plain advancing towards Vienna fighting on the German side, the last contingent: SS and Volkssturm units, Hitler Youth and the Wehrmacht. On 13 May proclaimed Stalin: Vienna is in Soviet hands! U.S. troops occupy Braunau and Linz, in western Austria back before the French, the English, in Carinthia. After the victory, the Allies set up: Vienna is divided into four zones, the separation of Austria from Germany is already decided ...

In the 80 years resulting from the material of the Chronos archive documentaries are now among the "classics of contemporary history". Since the recordings were left in their original state, the films have a high level of authenticity.
