In Adolf Hitler's fantasies of a "Greater Germany" that Austria's sovereignty had no place. However, he avoided long a blatant interference in the internal affairs of his former home.

This changed dramatically in the course of 1938. Will leave as the Austrian Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg given the open threats of violence by the Nazi regime, the Austrian nation decide in a referendum on the fate of the country, proposes to Hitler: On 12 March 1938 German troops marched into Austria.

70 years after these events, private rotated color films have emerged that make the operations of the fateful year of 1938 once again come to life in unique images: The day of the vote, Hitler in Klagenfurt, Goering in Mauterndorf, Hitler youth in Ried - but also the daily life in the villages off the main policy.
