The SA Sports Badge was posted on November 28, 1933 sponsored by the Chief of Staff of the SA, Ernst Roehm for the sporty men were active in the raising of public health. On January 19, 1939, was renamed the SA- military badges. Until 1935 , the acquisition was dependent on membership in the SA. As of February 18, 1935 , non-members were allowed to earn the badge . They had to be between 18 and 35 years and be worthy of defense . It was awarded a bronze, silver and gold. The acquisition was completed in 3 sets of exercises , athletics exercises
Basic exercises in the military sense as hand grenades target throw and field exercises such as orientation in the field . To acquire the higher levels of silver and gold is a regular repetition of the services was demanded.
Over time, the shape of the lettering of the badge was changed. The 1.Type ( 1934-35 ) carries on the back of the font : property d.Chefs d training system , the 2.Type ( 1935-38 ) , this, bears the inscription : ownership d SA Sports Badge main point , the third type ( 1939) bears the inscription : property of the top leadership of the SA , which carries 4 Type the words : SVM . It come with badge and not a manufacturer and student number before especially in the first two types.
Round , openwork badge in gold-plated non-ferrous metal . Back a vertical pin.
Front:
• The edge is formed of a revolving oak leaf wreath. Left and right in the middle a band.
• From bottom to top center placed a standing antique sword.
• Overlaid by the sword an upside the head swastika held by the bands in the wreath.
back:
• Hollow embossed and gilded.
