On 28 June 1914, a Serbian student shoots in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo the Austro-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife. The echo of shots echoed across Europe and brought the whole continent tremble. Only weeks later, French, British and Belgians, Russians, Serbs, Austrians, Italians and German had mobilized their armies: The First World War had begun.

Objectively and based on new historical research records this documentation after the events of the years 1914 to 1918. The comprehensive presentation of the military effort, the operational procedures, new weapons development and political objectives of the various warring parties also allows glimpses behind the scenes of the official presentation of history.
