The very first tank in Dragon's 1/6th plastic kit range was the Panzer II Ausf.B (item no. 75025), which caused a stir in the modeling and 1/6th action figure community worldwide! Now Dragon has doubled the number of Panzer IIs available with a second variant release! This time it's a Panzer II Ausf.C, a type produced by Germany from June 1938 to April 1940. It was operated by a crew of three and the Ausf.C was the most common variant of the Panzer II family. The turret housed a 20mm KwK.30 cannon and a 7.92mm MG34 machine gun. Panzer II Ausf. C tanks were on the front lines of the German invasion of France in 1940 and some were also sent to North Africa to fight with the legendary German Afrika Korps (DAK).
Although the original tank was tiny, this 1/6 scale kit has an impressive presence and is one of the largest models Dragon has ever built. The elements are accurately represented and building at this scale offers modelers a whole new experience. Take the track links for example. Owners can assemble the individual track links one by one, just like the original tank. Details are accurately represented, and there are numerous new components such as the cupola, turret, glacis plate and engine deck. The turret rotates, the gun raises and lowers, and the commander's hatch opens - perfect for slipping a Dragon action figure in. Collectors will certainly want to make room to park this dazzling Panzer II Ausf. C!
