Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (hollow embossing)

The Infantry Badge on 20 December 1939 by Walther von Brauchitsch, the Commander of the Army donated. It should be visible proof and recognition for infantrymen who had proven themselves in the assault. In addition, the badge give an incentive for the rest of the troupe. The badge was awarded to officers, noncommissioned officers and soldiers who served in rifle companies, and non-motorized Infantriedivisionen Mountaineer companies. Prerequisite for the award was that the soldier from 1st January 1940 has participated in 3 assaults, fought in the front line, has made a break-in attempt with a weapon or have been on 3 different days engaged in fighting is. The badge was awarded with certificate of possession in silver. The bronze badge received at the same ceremony the provisions of Mischinengewehrkompanien units, companies and antitank gun companies.
