In spring 1940, in the Katyn Forest, near Smolensk, on Stalin's personal orders of thousands of Poles, including officers, policemen, civil servants and ministers have been factory-murdered with gunshots to the head. The men had fallen into the hands of the Red Army, as this, together with the German Wehrmacht invaded Poland in October 1939 and occupied. After the war, the Soviet Union accused the army of having committed the crime - a lie that was obtained many decades upright. Only in 1990 did Gorbachev publicly that the Stalinist system was responsible for the mass murder. This documentation is characterized in detail to the historical truth.
