product information
Dragon 6888 - 1/35 Tiger I Mid-Production w/zimmerit Otto Carius (Battle of Malinava Village 1944) [Upgrade to Magic Tracks]

At the turn of the year, Dragon released a sparkling 1/35 scale kit of the famous German tank ace Michael Wittmann's "Last Tiger" (item # 6800). It was a hot seller and now it's joined by another signature kit depicting a tank ace. This time, a mid-production kit of the Tiger I represents the tank (numbered "217") of Oberleutnant Otto Carius, which took part in a short but sharp tank battle in the village of Malinava, Latvia, on 22 July 1944. During World War II, Carius was responsible for more than 150 enemy tanks.

This Tiger I Mid-Production Kit allows model builders to precisely create the s.Pz.Abt.502 tank "217" right out of the box. Components are molded using the very highest level of engineering by Dragon's experienced team. The plastic kit also includes molded Zimmerit to save the model builder time. There is a generous selection of photo-etched metalwork to enhance detail and the cartographer has prepared high quality decals for the appropriate markings for this battle-hardened Tiger I. As an icing on the cake, the artwork on the box is produced by the famous Ron Volstad, ensuring this kit will be a collector's item for years to come. This Tiger I mid-production kit is set to become another highly sought-after collector's item and is unsurpassed in accuracy and completeness.
